The College’s 5Ps – ‘Am I Ready to Learn?’ Classroom expectations were co-designed by students and staff in 2023. They follow the Department of Education ‘School-Wide Positive Behaviours Support’ framework of teaching and rewarding student positive behaviours.
The ‘5Ps’ poster reflects the school’s priority to have classroom expectations visible and consistent. These expectations are the agreed expectations for ALL classes, in EVERY subject in EVERY classroom.
Research suggests that the consistency of classroom environments and expectations has a significant positive effect on student behaviour & learning. Each staff member explicitly teaches these 5Ps expectations with their students, and positively rewards students for showing these expectations with House Points via a Green Chronicle system on Compass.
